A Few Notes on the Infographic

In theory, you could run an eCommerce website using WooCommerce and pay for nothing other than your web hosting. The same goes for Shopify. You could use a free theme and stick with free extensions, apps, and payment gateways.

In fact, all of the WooCommerce extensions I used in my example have free versions that would probably be good enough for most online stores. But I want this comparison to be useful for people who plan on running their businesses on one of these two platforms. For those people, paying a little extra to get all the features, and most importantly product support, is worth it.

Sames goes for themes. There are plenty of free themes that work well and look good. This infographic makes the assumption that shop owners will want to step up to premium themes, again with support, additional features, and possibly a visual page builder for WooCommerce.
